چکیده مقاله:

Digital orthodontics, through the utilization of advanced technologies such as intraoral three-dimensional scanning, digital design, and three-dimensional printing of orthodontic appliances, has brought about a remarkable transformation in orthodontic treatments. These technologies enable precise planning, accurate simulation of tooth movement pathways, and the application of controlled forces, thereby reducing damage to the dental supporting tissues, including the gingiva, periodontal ligament, and alveolar bone. The use of clear aligners and customized orthodontic devices, in addition to enhancing comfort and aesthetics, improves oral hygiene conditions by minimizing microbial plaque accumulation and gingival inflammation. Radiographic and three-dimensional imaging evidence demonstrates that continuous monitoring of tissue changes during digital treatment significantly enhances the prevention of periodontal damage. Comparative analyses between digital and conventional orthodontic treatments indicate the superiority of digital methods in reducing periodontal complications, controlling orthodontic forces, and improving the predictability of treatment outcomes. This review reveals that digital orthodontics not only enhances the efficiency and precision of treatment but also plays a fundamental role in maintaining and promoting the long-term health of dental supporting tissues, paving the way for the advancement of safe, stable, and evidence-based approaches in modern orthodontics.
