Drug resistance of Acinetobacter baumannii in hospitals

Acinetobacter baumannii is a Gram-negative opportunistic bacterium and a cause of hospital-acquired infections that develops extensive drug resistance and is one of the major challenges in global health systems. Clinical isolates of Acinetobacter baumannii with multidrug resistance have increased in recent decades. Considering the rising resistance to various drug classes and the lack of suitable treatment options, extensive research and study are required.
