چکیده مقاله:

Workplace productivity and employee behaviour arise from a complex interplay between genetic predispositions and environmental influences. This review synthesises interdisciplinary evidence from behavioural genetics and organisational psychology (۲۰۱۹–۲۰۲۵) to explore how gene–environment interactions shape motivation, stress regulation, and occupational performance. Recent genome-wide association studies (GWAS) indicate that polymorphisms in genes linked to dopamine (DRD۴) and serotonin (۵-HTTLPR) systems correlate with personality traits such as conscientiousness, resilience, and adaptability all of which influence workplace engagement and productivity. Concurrently, organisational environments characterised by autonomy, feedback, and trust can either amplify or buffer these genetic effects. The integration of biological predictors with psychosocial factors provides a broader understanding of individual differences at work. This paper argues that organisational psychology can benefit from adopting a gene–environment interaction framework, thus redefining approaches to talent management, stress prevention, and workforce efficiency. Ethical implications and potential misuses of genetic profiling are discussed to ensure an evidence-based but humane approach to productivity enhancement.
