چکیده مقاله:

Modern dietary patterns have a significant impact on mental health and athletic performance due to lifestyle changes and access to diverse foods. This review article examines these effects globally. For this purpose, a systematic method was used to search scientific articles in reputable databases such as PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar. Articles were searched for the keywords "modern dietary patterns," "mental health," and "athletic performance" between ۲۰۱۳ and ۲۰۲۳. Articles relevant to the inclusion criteria were selected, and information on study design, study population, and outcomes was extracted. The results indicate that modern dietary patterns, especially high intake of refined sugars and saturated fats, are associated with an increased risk of mental disorders such as anxiety and depression. Also, proper nutrition, including the consumption of fruits, vegetables, and healthy proteins, has a positive effect on improving athletic performance and increasing concentration and motivation. This review shows that attention to modern dietary patterns can play an important role in promoting mental health and improving athletic performance. It is recommended that individuals and nutritionists pay more attention to designing diets that are appropriate for mental and physical needs.
