چکیده مقاله:

This article explores the question of whether William Shakespeare of Stratford-upon-Avon was the traditionally recognized sole author of his work or not - also known as the "Shakespeare Authorship Question." The two main camps of Stratfordian and Anti-Stratfordian scholars are defined. The general issues taken by Anti-Stratfordians, likely candidates that fit the profile of the “real author” and their likely motivations are explored. Later, the more likely candidates and the main arguments for their proposal, group theories and following them the less likely candidates are discussed. Notable figures who supported the Anti-Stratfordian side are also mentioned. Although the skeptical position may never be accepted as canonical, the mere explorations of less commonly known historical theories are a beneficial exercise for the thinking mind, making it capable of more accurate analysis.
