Gas turbines are widely used for power generation, and their performance is significantly influenced by the Turbine Inlet Temperature (TIT). This study investigates the potential to enhance gas turbine power output by modifying TIT using a method that involves changing set points for temperature control reference at Turbine Exhaust Temperature (TET), subsequently adjusting TIT. Through modeling of unit one (G۱۱) of Fars combined cycle power plant, it is demonstrated that the TET can be safely elevated closer to the Maximum Allowed Temperature (MAT) threshold without compromising operational integrity, leading to a substantial increase in power. It was then discovered that increasing TIT to the manufacturer's recommended level ensures a ۲.۴ MW increase in gross power output while rising TIT to the MAT values leads to a ۵.۲ MW increase in gross power output. In fact, the proposed method predicts power augmentation more than ۵.۶% within a year. Considering that Fars power plant comprises six units, it can generate about ۲۵۷۰۰۰ MWh electrical energy beyond its current capacity, without incurring any additional costs.
