چکیده مقاله:

Ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC) has opened up new possibilities for structural applications. Many researchers and engineers have found the favorable mechanical properties and improved durability of UHPC to be attractive. However, high initial costs of this material pose a barrier to its use in structural applications. Therefore, it is essential to explore practical methods for reducing costs and minimizing environmental impacts. One straightforward strategy is to substitute recycled materials, which shows considerable promise. This paper utilizes various recycled materials at three levels of fillers, binders, and fibers in the UHPC mixture design. For this purpose, natural river sand was used to replace quartz sand, and recycled concrete powder (RCP) was used to replace quartz powder. Cement was replaced with ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBFS) in varying amounts as a binder. Finally, industrial steel microfibers were replaced with recycled steel fibers sourced from waste tires. Compressive strength, flexural strength and environmental impact were evaluated at this study. Based on the experimental results, this study highlights the successful development of a green and affordable UHPC using recycled materials.
