چکیده مقاله:
The addition of crumb rubber in both wet and dry forms during the production of asphalt mixtures is a common practice aimed at managing waste tires and enhancing the performance characteristics of asphalt mixtures. The effect of crumb rubber on the performance properties of asphalt mixtures is directly related to the viscoelastic properties of the corresponding asphalt mastic, which consists of bitumen, crumb rubber, and filler. In this study, the fatigue performance of asphalt mixtures containing crumb rubber was evaluated using the indirect tensile test (IDT) at different stress levels. Additionally, the properties of the asphalt mastic, composed of bitumen, crumb rubber, and a corresponding volumetric proportion of filler, were examined using a dynamic shear rheometer (DSR) test at ۱۰, ۲۲, and ۳۴°C to establish the relationship between mastic properties and asphalt mixture fatigue performance. The fatigue life of the modified mixtures, compared with the control mixtures, increased by factors of ۱.۲۸, ۵.۸۸, and ۱۱.۴۵ at temperatures of ۱۰, ۲۲, and ۳۴ °C, respectively. Therefore, the viscoelastic properties of the corresponding asphalt binder and its microstructure can be used to predict the fatigue behavior of asphalt mixtures.
