چکیده مقاله:

Dams, as critical infrastructures, require precise evaluation of their dynamic characteristics for seismic behavior analysis, numerical model refinement, and safety assessment against design earthquakes. In this study, an ambient vibration test was conducted on the Ezgeleh earth dam to determine its dynamic properties. The recorded vibration data were analyzed in the frequency domain using the Four-Spectral signal processing method, and the dam's dynamic characteristics were extracted. The results indicate that due to the unique valley geometry at the dam's center, which resembles a camel hump, the dynamic behavior of the dam differs from that of symmetrically shaped dams. This phenomenon causes a slight difference in natural frequencies between the left and right halves of the dam and increases the complexity of modal shapes. Additionally, comparison with previous studies confirms the high accuracy of the applied signal processing method. The findings of this research can contribute to enhancing numerical models, improving the analysis of permanent seismic monitoring data, and designing retrofitting strategies for the Ezgeleh dam and similar structures.
