Spiritual health among Iranian population: A scoping review study

Introduction: Scientists are interested to study spiritual health of population, and its related factors. In this regard, Iranian health-researches have conducted numerous studies on spiritual health in a variety of settings. The aim of this study was to review the scope spiritual health among Iranians’ researches.  Methods: The present study was conducted based on PRISMA protocol among Iranian studies on spiritual health. Using suitable key terms in scientific databases, finally ۱۸ articles were included and deeply reviewed.  Findings: Fifteen studies were cross sectional, methodologically. The largest sample size on spiritual health study was ۳۲۴۹ adults. The Ellison Spiritual Well Being Scale (SWBS) was the popular instrument among Iranian researchers. Most of the studies showed moderate or high score of spiritual health among Iranian population. Discussion: According to these findings it is recommended to do further studies in the field of spiritual health with other research methods such as interventional, retrospective, and longitudinal methods.
