Assessing The Impact Of Economic Complexity On The Happiness Index: Evidence From Iran

This study examines the impact of economic complexity on happiness in Iran over the period ۲۰۰۶–۲۰۲۰. The main objective is to analyze the correlation between economic complexity and the happiness index using the country’s economic and social data. The results reveal a positive association between economic complexity and the happiness index in Iran. In particular, the diversification of production and the advancement of modern technologies have contributed to higher levels of welfare and life satisfaction among citizens. Furthermore, the findings indicate that producing more sophisticated, knowledge-based, and technology-intensive goods can improve the country’s economic and social conditions. These results underscore the importance of effective governance and the promotion of a knowledge-based economy. To achieve sustainable development and enhance quality of life, policymakers should place special emphasis on strengthening economic complexity and fostering the production of high-technology goods. The study carries important implications for Iran’s economic and social policies and may serve as a guide for improving national welfare indicators.
