چکیده مقاله:
Biophilic design, which integrates nature into the built environment, has emerged as a transformative approach to addressing the challenges of modern urbanization and environmental degradation. By incorporating elements of the natural world into architectural design, biophilic principles promote sustainability, enhance the well-being of occupants, and foster environmental harmony. This paper delves into the significant role that biophilic design principles play in advancing sustainable green architecture, with a particular focus on their application in urban environments, where the pressure on resources and ecosystems is most acute. Through an extensive review of existing literature, case studies, and environmental data, this study explores how key biophilic elements—such as green roofs, natural ventilation, daylight optimization, indoor plants, and water features-contribute to improving energy efficiency, enhancing indoor air quality, and boosting the health and productivity of building occupants. The paper also examines how these design strategies not only contribute to reducing the ecological footprint of buildings but also help bridge the gap between the urban population and the natural world, fostering a deeper and more essential connection between humans and their environment. The findings suggest that biophilic design offers an innovative and effective way to promote sustainable living by creating healthier, more resilient urban spaces. Furthermore, this paper highlights the growing body of evidence showing the psychological, physical, and economic benefits of biophilic design, including reduced stress levels, increased creativity, and enhanced social cohesion in urban communities. The paper concludes with a set of practical, evidence-based recommendations for architects, urban planners, and policymakers on how to effectively integrate biophilic principles into the design process, from building orientation and material selection to community engagement and green infrastructure. These strategies are aimed at optimizing both ecological performance and human well-being, creating urban environments that not only support sustainability but also foster a more holistic and balanced relationship between people and nature.
