Understanding the Causes of Adolescent Addiction: A Qualitative Approach

Adolescent addiction is a complex, multifactorial phenomenon with wide-ranging individual and social consequences. This study aimed to explore the factors influencing the initiation and continuation of substance use among adolescents in Tabriz through a qualitative approach. Four main themes and nine subthemes emerged from the analysis, including individual factors, family-related factors, peer influence, and social and environmental factors. Participant quotations supported these themes and enriched the findings.
