چکیده مقاله:

The social status of teachers significantly impacts education systems globally, influencing student outcomes and societal development. This study explores factors affecting teachers' social status through a systematic review guided by Scaringella and Radziwon's seven-stage methodology. From an initial pool of ۲۹ studies, ۱۴ met the inclusion criteria, including relevance, international and Iran-specific focus, English and Persian availability, non-duplication, and publication between ۲۰۰۳ and ۲۰۲۴ from credible sources. The analysis identified three key domains: economic, cultural, and institutional factors. A recurring theme is the declining social standing of teachers, emphasizing the need for targeted interventions. Proposed strategies include public awareness campaigns to highlight teaching's intellectual rigor, reducing bureaucratic control, enhancing teacher participation in policy reforms, and offering curriculum flexibility. Encouraging media engagement and improving working conditions could also bolster morale and respect. Cross-cultural comparisons reveal diverse contexts. Countries like Japan and Taiwan show high societal respect for teachers due to cultural traditions, competitive salaries, and professional development. In contrast, Iran, France, Sweden, and the Slovak Republic face challenges from economic constraints, limited resources, and negative media portrayals. Key themes include cultural reverence for education, economic incentives, media representation, and teacher involvement in decision-making. Long-term trends indicate a gradual decline in teachers' status in some regions, underscoring the need for systemic reforms, economic improvements, and societal recognition. Future research should focus on identifying and implementing effective strategies to elevate teachers' social standing globally, fostering stronger education systems for educators and students alike.
