Exploring the drivers of agricultural carbon emissions using global innovation index: Top-carbon emitting countries

In this research is investigated the decoupling of pollution and agricultural growth in Iran, India, Korea, Russia, China, the United States, Japan, Canada and Germany countries. The decomposing of the total decoupling index showed that the energy intensity and the global innovation efficiency impact are the main drivers of CO۲ emission reduction in Korea. In Canada, the energy intensity impact was an effective factor for reducing CO۲ emission. Our findings indicated that the energy intensity impact and the global innovation efficiency impact were the main promoters in the decoupling of China,United state and Germany .In Russia, the energy intensity, the global innovation efficiency and the structure impact have an important role in reducing carbon emissions reduction. Carbon emissions cofficient was the most critical factor in the Iran,s decoupling. The Energy intensity impact and the structure impact played promoting role india,s decoupling. The results sowed that global innovation efficieny was a main factor in the CO۲ emissions reduction in Kore, Japan, United state, Germany and China. Almost, the energy intensity impact was the decisive factor in the CO۲ emissions reduction in these countries.It should be noted that in order to achieve sustainable development, basic measures should be taken to reduce the intensity of energy consumption. Based on the findings of this study the global innovation efficiency effect was a main driver in the carbon emissions reduction rate in Kore, Japan, United state, Germany and China and Russia. Innovation is an important factor in reducing fossil fuels and CO۲ emissions.
