چکیده مقاله:

The current study reviewed the most important studies in the field of technological hegemonies and its impact on L۱ acquisition. By employing keyword analysis and visual representation techniques, an exploration of key publications in applied linguistics and language instruction was conducted. This involved handpicking ۳۰ articles from a pool of ۱۰۰ papers stored in these databases, utilizing the sophisticated search functionalities of the principal publications. Based on the exploration of the main studies in the field, the following main themes were generated based on the study: Exploration of the Notion of Technological Hegemony, its Origin, and Current Practices, Technological Hegemonies Imposing Restrictions on Teaching Process, Technological Hegemony of English as a Threat to International Languages, Technologies at the Service of Transformation, Change in the Educational Practices Towards Technological Progress, Public Satisfaction in the Use of Technology. The research concluded that technology inherently exerts dominance in all facets of life, subtly or overtly encouraging its use to achieve satisfaction, thereby controlling the target group. It is designed and premeditated in such a way that not adopting it or lacking it is seen as a significant public shortcoming, while its possession is viewed as a mark of elitism and nobility. The primary benefit is clear: it serves as a tool for the domination and hegemony of the English language. Technology has never been, nor will it ever be neutral, as it always prioritizes the interests of its proprietors and power sources.
