چکیده مقاله:

This report provides a comprehensive interdisciplinary analysis of the integration of Shape Memory Alloys into kinetic and dynamic architecture. The research examines how these intelligent materials, defined by their ability to deform and return to their original shape, enable buildings to become active and autonomous agents, moving beyond the traditional paradigm of static structures. The methodology is a qualitative, expert-level review and comparative analysis that synthesizes a wide range of academic literature and case studies. This approach explores the technical and conceptual implications of SMAs without relying on a statistical population or specific data collection tools. The analysis focuses on key applications, including adaptive facades for energy efficiency and structural reinforcement for seismic resilience, while also examining the broader socioeconomic and ethical implications of this technology. The findings conclude that SMAs represent a fundamental paradigm shift in architectural design, enabling a transition toward more sustainable, resilient, and environmentally responsive buildings. This material intelligence enhances a building’s performance and energy efficiency by eliminating the need for complex, energy-intensive mechanical systems and necessitates a new approach to architectural education and interdisciplinary collaboration to overcome challenges in modeling and fabrication
