چکیده مقاله:

Tissue engineering focuses on creating biomimetic substitutes for damaged tissues, with chitosan—a biopolymer derived from chitin—emerging as a significant biomaterial. Recognized for its biocompatibility, non-toxicity, and biodegradability, chitosan has been studied for its capacity to enhance tissue regeneration. Studies indicate its effectiveness in promoting cell adhesion, proliferation, differentiation, and stimulating angiogenesis. Chitosan-based scaffolds support diverse cell types, including stem cells, and can be customized to replicate native tissue structures. Its versatility allows modifications with bioactive molecules and growth factors, enabling tailored biomaterials for specific applications. Additionally, chitosan's biodegradability facilitates rapid clearance from implantation sites, minimizing adverse reactions and facilitating integration with native tissues. Overall, chitosan presents substantial potential for advancing therapeutic strategies in tissue repair and regeneration, making it a promising candidate for effective functional tissue substitutes.
