In recent decades, due to the direct impact of chemical industries on the environment, the development of environmentally friendly processes has become a main priority of researchers. Researchers are focusing on green chemistry principles to modify classical reactions, design low-risk synthesis routes, utilize renewable resources, minimize waste, and avoid the use of toxic and dangerous reagents and solvents. One of the main one-pot MCR reactions is an efficient four-component synthesis of polyhydroquinolines (PHQs) which, through various catalysts attracted scientists. Developing heterogeneous catalysts by modifying their porosity and tuning their acidity to perform solvent-free one-pot multicomponent reactions (MCRs) is the main goal of this study. Here, we report a cost-effective and stable acidic catalyst exhibiting superior activity and excellent yield in solvent-free synthesis of diverse polyhydroquinoline. The catalyst was characterized by NH₃-TPD, BET, XRD, FT-IR, FESEM, EDX, MAP, and TGA/DTA analyses. The results displayed micro-meso structure and high acidity for the novel catalyst. The development of functionalized zeolite catalysts provides crucial insights into the design of stable, reusable, and highly efficient catalysts for organic reactions.
