چکیده مقاله:

The environmental hazards posed by the entry of discharged wastewater effluents into nature, coupled with the ever-increasing problem of water scarcity, have led to an increased use of zeolite as one of the most effective methods in wastewater treatment. Zeolite is a mineral that is mainly composed of hydrated aluminosilicates with a porous structure. Research indicates that modified zeolites exhibit higher adsorption and molecular sieving properties compared to natural zeolites, and unlike synthetic zeolites, they require fewer resources and energy. Modified zeolites are usually created through physical or chemical processes applied to natural zeolites, which leads to improved properties, such as increased adsorption capacity or changes in pore size. This article refers to various ways to correct zeolites using physical and chemical processes. These include the method of converting zeolite to nano-zeolite, ion exchange methods, correction with acidic and alkaline solutions, metallic oxides correction, and organic or mineral materials to improve zeolites. In conclusion utilizing modified zeolites can contribute to achieving sustainable development goals in the field of wastewater treatment.
