چکیده مقاله:

The critical separation and purification industry represents nearly fifty percent of industrial energy usage. The use of porous solids for gas separation, which relies on the molecular characteristics of gas mixture components, such as chemical affinity and molecular size, has garnered significant interest as a high-efficiency, low-energy alternative to conventional technologies such as distillation. "Flexible -robust" frameworks are innovative types of porous solids that have made significant advances in gas separation due to their distinct structural properties. This lecture focuses on providing a comprehensive examination of the evolution and advancement of these structures in addressing specific challenging gas separation objectives. A detailed comparison of the structural and separation characteristics of flexible-robust frameworks with both robust and flexible types is presented. Furthermore, a systematic analysis of the performance of this new class of porous materials clearly demonstrates that flexible-robust frameworks serve as benchmark materials for numerous challenging gas separations. From an industrial perspective, the characteristics of this category are evaluated against other benchmarks, focusing on separation performance, stability, and energy efficiency challenges.
