In order to investigate the effect of listening comprehension on vocabulary learning, a quasi-experimental design was devised with a pretest and posttest. The learners were selected through convenient sampling and were homogenized using Key English Test (KET). Overall, ۸۵ learners participated in this study. The researcher developed a reliable form of Vocabulary Knowledge Scale (VKS) to be used as pretest and posttest. Spearman correlation was used to test the research question. The results indicated that the correlation between listening test scores and VKS pretest was not significant; however, the correlation between the VKS posttest and the listening test was significant. The null hypothesis stating that Listening comprehension contributes to learners’ acquisition of L۲ vocabulary was rejected. Pedagogical implication of the finding was elaborated in the final chapter.
