چکیده مقاله:

With climate change posing an imminent threat, urgent action is imperative to address its far-reaching consequences. The built environment, responsible for a significant portion of greenhouse gas emissions, demands innovative solutions to mitigate environmental impact. This article explores the role of architecture in combating climate change, aiming to present sustainable and resilient strategies for the built environment. The objective is to investigate innovative architectural approaches to sustainable design and energy efficiency, considering the urgent need highlighted by the IPCC ۲۰۲۲ report. The study comprehensively examines the science behind climate change, its impact on the built environment, and potential architectural responses. Through an extensive review of research works in this field, a collection of solutions is curated to address the pressing environmental challenges. The paper presents a multifaceted set of innovative architectural approaches for climate-resilient buildings. Passive design principles, climate-responsive materials, water harvesting, adaptable spaces, renewable energy integration, smart technologies, elevated foundations, flood-resistant designs, and biodiversity integration are discussed as crucial elements in fostering a sustainable and resilient built environment. Buildings, major contributors to greenhouse gas emissions, can significantly reduce their environmental impact through a holistic set of architectural strategies. From optimizing natural resources with passive design principles to harnessing renewable energy through innovative technologies, the article emphasizes the importance of conscious design and construction practices. By embracing these solutions, the built environment can harmonize with nature, contributing to the global fight against climate change and promoting a more sustainable future.
