Translation has resulted in intercultural communication between Iran and other societies, and it has played a prominent role in most political turning points such as the Arab conquest of Iran, the Constitutional Revolution, and the Islamic Revolution of ۱۹۷۹. In all of the movements mentioned above, translation has been one of the main factors in generating critical and amendatory viewpoints and has led to the growth of public awareness. In this research, an attempt has been made to study and analyze the role of translation in creating social changes during political turning points before the Islamic Revolution of ۱۹۷۹. It has been endeavoured to present some translations that profoundly influenced the intellectual and political climate during Pahlavi's era. To do so, the resources have been attained from the National Archives and Library of Iran, and by analyzing some of the translated books from ۱۹۲۵ till ۱۹۷۹, the way that translation undertook the role of activist in that political repression has been manifested. Furthermore, the publications of the best-known publishing houses have been determined to uncover the orientation of these publications in the scope of translation based on Tymoczko's theory and find out their main criteria for choosing each text. Lastly, the effect of translation on people's enlightenmment, and the way it undertook the role of activist in that political repression has been examined.
