چکیده مقاله:

The aim of this study was to examine the effectiveness of group schema therapy on self-differentiation, emotional expressiveness, and couple burnout among couples. The present research employed a quasi-experimental design of the pretest-posttest type, incorporating a control group. The study's population consisted of ۷۶ individuals (۳۸ couples) who were referred to the 'Avaye Sadaat Va Salamat' Institute in Mashhad during the spring of ۲۰۲۳. Convenience sampling was utilized, and based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria, ۳۲ individuals (۱۶ couples) were selected and randomly assigned to groups. This resulted in ۱۶ individuals (۸ couples) in the control group and ۱۶ individuals (۸ couples) in the experimental group, where the effectiveness of schema therapy was implemented. The instruments used for data collection included the Differentiation of Self Inventory by Skowron and Friedlander (۱۹۹۸), the Emotional Expressiveness Questionnaire by King and Emmons (۱۹۹۰), and the Couple Burnout Measure by Pines (۱۹۹۶). Data analysis was conducted using SPSS ۲۳ software, employing both descriptive and inferential statistical methods. Multivariate analysis of covariance was used to test the research hypotheses. The results of the analysis indicated that participants in the experimental group had higher mean scores than those in the control group across all dimensions of self-differentiation, as well as in the expression of positive emotions and the expression of intimacy. Conversely, in terms of the expression of negative emotions and dimensions of couple burnout, the experimental group participants exhibited lower mean scores than the control group participants (P < ۰.۰۱). Therefore, it can be concluded that group schema therapy is effective in promoting self-differentiation, emotional expressiveness, and reducing couple burnout among couples.
