This research investigated the fabrication of mixed matrix membranes (MMMs) embedded with UiO-۶۶ and Cu-UiO-۶۶ as fillers. Cu-UiO-۶۶ was synthesized by an in-situ process of UiO-۶۶ in room temperature and the synthesized MOFs were analyzed by FT-IR, XRD and SEM techniques. The MMM containing copper doped UiO-۶۶ rendered superior gas behavior over MMM with UiO-۶۶ and pure membrane. By incorporation of Cu-UiO-۶۶ into PEBAX matrix, about ۱۴۵ and ۱۹.۵% increase of CO۲ and N۲ were recorded compared to the pure membrane. This work provided a facile and efficient strategy to fabricate MOFs-based MMM for gas purification.
