Synthesis of Zinc Acetate@ZIF-۸ Nanocomposite and Investigation of Its Properties for Making Smart Anti-Corrosion Coating

چکیده مقاله:
The present study used a Metal-Organic Framework as an inhibitor carrier in epoxy anti-corrosion
coating. For this purpose, ZIF-۸ was first synthesized, and then the synthesized structure was
characterized by XRD, FTIR, TGA, BET, and SEM analyses. Next, the Zinc Acetate inhibitor was
loaded into the ZIF-۸ cavities. BET, TGA, and SEM analyses were used to confirm the loading, and
ICP analysis was used to investigate the inhibitor release pattern. Then, by adding ZIF-۸ containing
inhibitor to the epoxy coating, applying the coating to steel sheets, and creating artificial scratches on
the coatings, the anti-corrosion properties of the samples were evaluated by electrochemical impedance
spectroscopy, potentiodynamic polarization, pull-off, and salt spray tests. The results of the
electrochemical spectroscopy test indicate the improvement of anti-corrosion performance in the
sample containing the inhibitor, so that after ۶ hours of immersion in ۳.۵% sodium chloride solution,
the charge transfer resistance value in the EP sample is ۹۹۹, and in the ZA@ZIF-۸/EP sample is ۴۰۸۲
Ωcm², which confirms the inhibitor effect. Finally, the impact of adding the inhibitor on adhesion and
wettability properties was investigated
