Development and Application of Estimate Expert Systems in Die and Mould Manufacturing

in order to achieve the benefits of mass production and meet the requirement of better quality condition in the factory . The die and mould technology are widely applied to the industrial field. This technology will be referred as die manufacturing for steel products and mould manufacturing for plastics. to solve the environmental and energy problems mould manufacturing is widely used nowadays. most engineers are now facing with a difficult task to make and draw an estimate form in mould technology . Experienced engineers achieve this estimate using mould calculations. However at most mould manufacturing enterpries there are frequent cases that the rule of thumb is used. that is because they have neither established standardization nor have determined clear estimate method. there fore it is studied for estimate calculation of the mould manufacturing process. Results of such a system have the advantage that even beginners can create better quoting result than experts. the developed system has used visual BASIC 1 language and SQL data Base under Windows environment.
