In the current conditions of Iran, with a population of approximately ۸۵ million people, energy is consumed at a rate equivalent to a country with a population of one billion. Iran is recognized as one of the energy-intensive countries in the world, and the highest energy waste is related to the building sector. It can be said that Iran is recognized as one of the energy-intensive countries in the world.In this study, the impact of various energy-saving strategies on the classification and energy consumption criteria of residential buildings in Tehran was investigated using the Design Builder software. A residential building in Tehran city is studied. The research examines the effect of employing triple-glazed windows on energy usage in residential buildings within the city of Tehran. Focuses on optimizing window size and shape to achieve energy efficiency while maintaining appropriate day lighting. The results demonstrate that by using triple-glazed windows compared to double-glazed windows, a reduction of ۲۳۱۵ kilowatt-hours of energy per year can be achieved (including electricity and gas consumption). Additionally, replacing double-glazed windows with triple-glazed windows could result in an economic savings of approximately ۴,۲۷۸,۰۰۰ Iranian rials per year. The payback period in this scenario is close to ۹۴ years.
