چکیده مقاله:

Vinyl acetate is processed to produce polymers and copolymers used in water based paints, different adhesives, paper coatings or nonwoven binders and various applications. The polymerization processes used include solution, suspension and emulsion. Many incidents involving the runaway polymerization of vinyl acetate monomers (VAM) are known. Solution Polymerization is the one less be cared and emulsion one is the most be noticed. In this paper, solution polymerization of vinyl acetate carried out by using di Benzoyl peroxide as an initiator and ethyl acetate, Ethanol and acetone as solvents. So, the obtained polymer just by adding some additives can be used as a useful adhesive by itself. The properties of the obtained polymer were studied by measuring viscosity, solid content and adhesion of polymer on different substrates. The effect of initiator concentration by ratio of molls of initiator to molls of monomer, was evaluated based on these results and the optimum one can be chosen for further researches.
