چکیده مقاله:

This study explores the impact of personality types on English speaking skills among high school students in Zahedan, aiming to investigate how different personality traits influence the development of speaking fluency in English as a Foreign Language (EFL). Personality traits, specifically extraversion, introversion, emotional stability, and motivation, have been shown to play a crucial role in language acquisition, especially in speaking skills. The purpose of this research was to analyze the correlation between students' personality types and their speaking performance in an EFL context, with a focus on how these traits affect their participation in speaking activities and overall language proficiency. The study adopted a qualitative research approach, where data were collected from various academic articles and case studies in the field of language learning and personality research. The findings suggest that extraverted students tend to have better speaking skills due to their willingness to engage in communication, while introverted students face challenges in speaking fluency, often avoiding oral interactions. Additionally, emotionally stable students showed higher levels of confidence in their speaking abilities, while those with lower emotional stability exhibited anxiety and reluctance to participate in speaking tasks. Motivation was also identified as a key factor influencing speaking performance, with highly motivated students, particularly those with extroverted personalities, engaging more actively in speaking activities. In conclusion, the study underscores the significance of considering personality traits in language teaching. It highlights the need for tailored teaching strategies to accommodate different personality types, ensuring that all students have equal opportunities to improve their speaking skills in English. This research contributes to the understanding of the relationship between personality and language learning, providing valuable insights for EFL educators.
