The Transformation of Education Through Artificial Intelligence: From Traditional Classrooms to Smart Learning

Artificial Intelligence has emerged as a transformative force across various sectors, with education being one of its most impacted domains. The integration of AI into educational environments has opened new avenues for personalized learning, intelligent tutoring, and real-time feedback. This study aims to explore how AI influences learning processes and teaching roles in primary education, with a particular focus on adaptive learning systems and smart classroom environments. A mixed-method approach was employed, combining document analysis with semi-structured questionnaires administered to ۰۵ participants, including teachers and students from primary schools in Khomeinishahr, Isfahan. The quantitative findings indicate that ۲۸% of respondents believed AI helped tailor educational content to individual needs, while ۴۷% reported a shift in the role of teachers from information providers to learning facilitators. Qualitative insights further highlighted improved engagement, increased motivation, and the ability of teachers to focus more on higher-order cognitive skills. Despite these advantages, challenges such as reduced face-to-face interaction and data privacy concerns were evident. Approximately ۷۲% of participants mentioned a decrease in human interaction, and ۶۳% expressed concerns about the misuse of learner data. These challenges underline the need for ethical guidelines, robust infrastructure, and professional development programs for educators. The study concludes that while AI holds great promise for enhancing education, its implementation must be thoughtful, ethical, and supported by clear policy frameworks. Future research should explore the long-term socio-emotional effects of AI and evaluate its impact in diverse educational settings and age groups.
