چکیده مقاله:
This paper presents a comprehensive analysis of the impact of different well completion methods on the production performance of an oil well. Detailed simulations were performed using the PipeSim software on a real Iranian well that has been producing steadily for more than nine years at a constant rate of approximately ۱,۵۰۰ barrels per day. Two main completion methods cased-hole and open-hole were evaluated, each with three different production paths: through tubing, through the annulus, and through the entire wellbore. This resulted in a total of six operational scenarios. The simulation results demonstrate that both the choice of completion method and production path significantly affect the well’s deliverability, downstream pressure, and overall productivity. Comparative analysis of these scenarios highlights the strengths and limitations of each completion approach under varying reservoir and operational conditions, providing practical insights for engineers to select the optimal solution based on specific well characteristics and production objectives. The findings of this study offer reliable, practical guidance for optimizing well completion architecture and production path design.
