A Systematic Review of Behaviorist Interventions in ADHD and Skill-Based Training for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

Behaviorist interventions are widely recognized as effective non-pharmacological approaches for managing Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and for teaching functional skills to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This systematic review aims to synthesize recent empirical findings on the use of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), token economy, reinforcement techniques, and parent training in two populations: children with ADHD and children with ASD. The review highlights shared principles, contextual applications, and cross-diagnostic implications for behaviorist-based intervention programs in both clinical and educational environments.
