چکیده مقاله:

This paper presents an evolving relationship between Artificial Intelligence (AI) and human instruction in the domain of English language learning, particularly in how to strike a meaningful balance between automation and teacher-led practices. Based on some recent research, it outlines several advantages of AI, such as tailored feedback options, enhanced learner independence, and unlimited availability. Yet, it also exposes challenges like decreased emotional connection, fairness issues, and the necessity for extensive instructor training. As the literature highlights, the goal should be for AI to assist human educators rather than take their place, particularly when it comes to facilitating communication, cultural sensitivity, and learner motivation. The paper concludes with several suggestions that would enable policy reform, professional development, and changes to curricula to facilitate ethical and effective integration of AI into language education. It urges sustained investigation of reasonable modes of human-AI work in which both technology and pedagogy are one’s focus.
