چکیده مقاله:

Background and Aims: Children facing severe illnesses often struggle to communicate due to their health conditions and hospitalization. Effective communication is essential to ensure these children receive appropriate emotional and medical care. Traditional communication approaches are insufficient in the case of children with complex conditions. AI technology like image-guided e-books and therapeutic games can improve pediatric patients' confidence and interaction with nurses. This study aims to prove that AI-generated image teaching materials can improve communication with sick children. Methods: The current systematic review study was conducted by systematic searching in reputable scientific databases, including PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar, from ۲۰۱۵ to ۲۰۲۴ using the keywords “Artificial Intelligence,” “Children’s Communication,” and “Sick Children.” Articles related to the study aim were also evaluated through the Mixed Method Appraisal Tool (MMAT). Finally, ۶ studies were included in the research. Results: Tools such as AI-generated images, speech-to-text devices, and AI companions also significantly reduced communication time among pediatric patients. For instance, if facial recognition software identified an emotional state, it would inform the caregiver so they could respond with empathy. Several studies in this field noted improved patient satisfaction, decreased communication barriers, and greater emotional comfort. Conclusion: Abstract AI-based image tools surpass traditional methods by supporting communication with sick children and providing transformative, empathetic solutions to clinical and emotional needs. AI enables better, more appropriate interactions that engage and empower pediatric patients as partners in their care while still allowing personalized, empathetic clinical attention.
