چکیده مقاله:

In recent decades, advances in genetics have brought major changes to modern agriculture. One of the most important achievements in this field has been the development of genetically modified organisms (GMOs), aimed at improving agricultural performance, enhancing nutritional quality, and addressing climate challenges. By introducing beneficial traits into plants and animals, GMOs have played a key role in strengthening global food security and opening up new ways to optimize food resources. The main goal of this article is to explore the opportunities and benefits offered by GMOs while also examining the serious biosafety risks and ethical responsibilities connected to food safety. Issues such as the transfer of modified genes to wild species, the loss of biodiversity, the emergence of new allergens, and the lack of clear consumer information highlight the urgent need for strong ethical frameworks. Principles like scientific honesty, transparent communication, respect for consumer choice, and independent oversight of safety testing are essential for the responsible development of GMOs. In conclusion, achieving sustainable and widely accepted growth in GMO products requires clear support policies, independent and ethical research, and effective monitoring systems across the entire food production and distribution chain. This article aims to offer practical approaches to balancing the benefits of new technologies with the need to uphold biosafety standards and ethical values.
