چکیده مقاله:

In the modern era, one of the most significant challenges facing human society is economic sanctions. These sanctions are often justified as tools to promote human rights and maintain international peace and security. However, an examination of the consequences of such sanctions reveals that they often worsen the human rights situation, particularly for vulnerable groups such as women and children, especially in terms of access to medicine and food. The central question of this research is: How do international sanctions violate the food and medicine security of women and children as one of the fundamental human rights? The study finds that international sanctions, by depriving women and children of the right to life, health, and access to food and medicine—both directly and indirectly—undermine their food and medicine security and, consequently, their basic human rights. The findings further indicate that, under international human rights instruments, such sanctions constitute a gross violation of human rights, amount to interference in the internal affairs of the targeted state and broadly violate the principle of non-use of force. Additionally, the results demonstrate that international legal systems, through mechanisms such as the right to health and human rights protections for vulnerable groups like women and children, and based on international regulations and conventions related to access to food and medicine, can and should obligate states and organizations to ensure the supply and distribution of essential medicines and food for women and children.
