چکیده مقاله:

The present study focuses on the green synthesis of zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) using Calendula officinalis (marigold) flower extract and their incorporation into a polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)-based nanocomposite for wound dressing applications. In addition to ZnO NPs, calendula oil was added to the PVA matrix to enhance the bioactivity and therapeutic potential of the composite. The synthesized ZnO NPs were characterized using XRD, FTIR, and SEM, confirming their nanoscale morphology and phytochemical functionalization. The mechanical properties of the resulting PVA/Calendula oil/ZnO nanocomposite films were thoroughly evaluated, revealing improved tensile strength and flexibility, suitable for wound dressing performance. The findings suggest that the combination of green-synthesized ZnO and calendula-based components can offer a biodegradable, non-toxic, and mechanically robust platform for advanced burn care materials.
