چکیده مقاله:

Over the past decade, the phenomenon of medical tourism surged, and patients began to travel the world to receive high-quality, cheap medical care. Some of the biggest challenges faced with medical tourism include the risk of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs). Antimicrobial textiles that incorporate biocidal agents into fabrics hold a particular promise toward reducing the risk of infection within health-care environments. We target reviewing antimicrobial textiles usage in medical tourism, and its impact including evidence of effectiveness, its working mechanisms, various raw materials used for them, regulatory aspects and hurdles to mass promotion of such materials. The latest developments in nanotechnology, biodegradable antimicrobial agents and the cost implications of deploying these textiles into global healthcare settings have also been addressed. It also explores future directions to enhance the durability, sustainability, and affordability of antimicrobial textiles.
