This study introduces a user-friendly software tool for optimizing rebar cutting in reinforced concrete construction projects. The tool manages the cutting process in order to reduce the material waste by generating optimized cutting patterns based on the design requirements for rebar lengths. The proposed approach was then tested on two typical reinforced concrete frames, where the bar lengths in the beams and columns resulted in accurate cutting plans and precise quantity take-offs for reinforcement bars. The software’s impact is particularly significant in large-scale projects, where even small improvements in material efficiency lead to notable cost savings and waste reduction. Moreover, the results demonstrate that the established tool ensures precision in rebar procurement, reducing both the excess material purchases and waste, thus enhancing overall project efficiency. The study concludes that integrating this intelligent and practical tool into the construction workflow can significantly contribute to more sustainable, efficient, and cost-effective building practices.
