Identification and Isolation of Pseudomonas putida for Bioremediation

Environmental Biotechnology for pollution control uses a biological process to remove pollutants from contaminated water, wastewater, soil, or other media. The long,term production and use of different petroleum derivatives have caused widespread contamination of soil around facilities handling them. The need to remey these contaminated environments has led to the development of a number of technologies such as bioremediation. For thes purpose the pure culture of Pseudomonas putida was prepared by isolation these rod,form bacteria from the soil samples using Plate Dilution Technique (PDT). This project work shows the ability of this species in bioremediation of the petrochemical compounds from different sources. This work was a lab, scale and it can be applied for in,situ bioremediation of polluted soils in petrochemical sites.
