چکیده مقاله:

A variety of treatment options are available for individuals diagnosed with cancer, influenced by several factors, including the cancer type, stage, overall health, and personal preferences. Among these treatments, some leverage the immune system to combat cancer. Cancer immunotherapy is a therapeutic approach that enhances the immune system’s ability to target and eliminate cancer cells. While certain immunotherapies, such as cancer vaccines, serve a preventive role, the majority function as therapeutic interventions. These treatments help the immune system recognize, attack, and eradicate malignant cells by either strengthening the overall immune response or activating specific immune cells. Moreover, advancements in combination therapies and personalized approaches continue to expand the potential of immune-based cancer treatment. This paper examines the diverse forms of immunotherapy and their transformative impact on cancer care, yielding significant benefits for select patients. Additionally, it provides insight into the mechanisms behind each type and highlights examples of approved immunotherapeutic strategies. Ongoing research and clinical innovations are expected to enhance therapeutic efficacy, paving the way for more personalized and effective cancer management.
