چکیده مقاله:
Background: Wounds are one of the most important problems threatening human health throughout the world. Many causes and factors can cause wounds and lesions in the skin and internal tissues of the body. One of the important factors underlying and aggravating the wound is microbial infections. The purpose of this systematic review was to identify and introduce the types of pathogenic parasites and parasitic infections that are the cause of various skin lesions and wounds. Also, introducing effective methods of healing wounds and internal tissues damaged by parasitic infections was one of the aims of this study. Methods: In this systematic review, in order to access scientific resources and collect specialized articles, various sites and data banks including Google Scholar, PubMed, SID, magiran, Elsevier, and Web of sciences were referred to. The key words and phrases that used in the internet search were: wound and pathogenic parasites, wound and protozoan parasites, wound and multicellular parasites, wound and parasitic infections, wound healing and parasitic infections. Results: Among ۹۸ articles collected, ۳۱ articles were selected for study due to the specialization of their content. The results of this study showed that some parasitic infections caused by protozoan, multicellular (helminthic) parasites and ectoparasites lead to the creation several kinds of wounds and lesions on the skin and internal tissues. The most important protozoan parasites are Leishmania (leishmaniasis), Trypanosoma (trypanosomiasis), and Plasmodium (malaria), which cause skin and mucocutaneous lesions, ulcers, necrosis, and tissue and skin scars. Among the pathogenic multicellular (helminthic) parasites, Ascaris, Schistosoma and Filaria cause wounds, ulcers and skin lesions, granulomatous lesions, severe lymphatic and skin inflammations and inflammation in internal organs such as intestines, liver and bladder. Ectoparasites such as mites, ticks and lice can also cause a range of wounds and skin lesions such as nodules, granulomas, dermatitis, and hemorrhagic wounds. Today, various methods and techniques are available to repair damaged tissues and wounds caused by pathogenic parasites and parasitic infections. These include use of anti-parasitic drugs such as albendazole and praziquantel, anti-inflammatory drugs, traditional skin wound care methods.
