چکیده مقاله:

High-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) is a technique that uses concentrated ultrasound energy to thermally ablate cancerous cells. Considered minimally invasive, HIFU offers a lower risk of complications and quicker recovery times compared to surgical methods. While it is primarily used for treating pancreatic cancers, research is ongoing to assess its effectiveness in combating hepatocellular carcinoma. HIFU can be used as a standalone treatment for hepatocellular carcinoma, but there is also interest in its role within combination therapies. Additionally, new research is examining HIFU's broader applications, including localized thermal ablation and potential uses in drug delivery and gene therapy, thereby enhancing its therapeutic potential. Despite the promising prospects of HIFU for hepatocellular carcinoma, existing limitations remain. Continued research and technological advancements are expected to establish HIFU as a critical therapeutic option in the near future. This article offers a detailed overview of HIFU therapy for hepatocellular carcinoma and updates on its current clinical standing.
