چکیده مقاله:

Nanocrystals have great potential to be used as improved drug carriers due to their low cost, high biodegradability and biocompatibility. In this research, we report the synthesis of β‑cyclodextrin-functionalized cellulose nanocrystal (β-CD/CNCs) as a carrier material to carry propolis and determination of its antibacterial properties. The β-CD/CNCs were characterized using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), which revealed a crystal structure for β-CD/CNCs. Then, the antibacterial property of propolis loaded β-CD/CNC were determined. The antibacterial activity was investigated using the disk diffusion method. The obtained results proved that the propolis loaded in β-CD/CNCs showed better antibacterial activity than free propolis.
