Synthesis of sodium chromate nanoparticles from chromite ore

The use of chromium compounds such as sodium chromate is very extensive in industries. The aim of this research is to produce sodium chromate from chromite concentrate with a grade of ۳۲% by the alkaline roasting of chromite by sodium carbonate. Alkaline roasting of chromite concentrate was performed at different ratios of sodium carbonate at a temperature of ۱۰۰۰ °C for ۲ hours in air atmosphere. The results showed that the optimum condition for alkaline roasting was achieved at a molar ratio of ۲.۵/۱ of sodium carbonate to chromium oxide.
