Appropriate Behavior with the Spouse in Prophetic Teachings

Family, as the most fundamental foundation of human society, is effective in the formation of individual ethics and character. The health and dynamism of society depend on the health and stability of the family, and the behavior of family members strengthens this sacred institution. Hence, one of the factors that affect the strength of the family is the appropriate behavior of family members, especially the behavior of spouses with each other. Since the religion of Islam has a plan for all areas of life, then one can get the way of treating the spouse from religious sources and the life of the Holy Prophet of Islam and Ahl al-Bayt (AS). This research, in a descriptive way and by referring to authentic narrative books that explain the lifestyle of the Holy Prophet of Islam (PBUH), has discussed the 'Appropriate Behavior with the Spouse in Prophetic Teachings' using narrative evidence in the sayings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) as well as his life. In the end, it has been concluded that we can behave properly with the spouse by showing attention and interest, paying attention to cleanliness and grooming, using a good smell, calling them by a beautiful name, helping in the housework, paying attention to the mental and psychological security of the spouse, cheerfulness, and remembering the good deeds of the spouse.
