چکیده مقاله:
Two different kinds of nanofluids were prepared by dispersion of Al۲O۳ and TiO۲ nanoparticles in water as based fluid. Forced convection heat transfer of nanofluids in an actual car radiator was investigated experimentally. In this research, Peugeot ۴۰۵ engine is used as a heating system. The radiator cooling system performance using nanofluids, TiO۲-water and Al۲O۳-water in comparison with distilled water as coolant was examined experimentally. The experiments were performed with different concentrations of nanoparticles, TiO۲ and Al۲O۳ in water and different speed of car's engine. Also, the amount of gasoline consumption has been measured in each test. Experimental results showed that the performance of radiator cooling system was significantly enhanced as the enhanced heat transfer coefficient generally observed under forced convection condition and the significantly higher thermal conductivity prevailing for these nanofluids. However, the heat transfer coefficient was enhanced as nanoparticle was added to base fluid, but it seems passes a maximum point as nanoparticle concentration increased. The results also showed that the change in the coolant has no significant effect on the amount of gasoline consumption, or in other words, it has no effect.
