Industry ۴.۰ technologies and sustainability operators in the supply chain of various companies

The digital revolution, an important component of the ۴th generation industry, fundamentally changes the way people live and work, and people in the community are optimistic about the opportunities that Industry ۴.۰ can provide for sustainability. The purpose of this article is to evaluate the relationship between Industry ۴.۰ and sustainability opportunities that lead to better supply chain management performance. It also helps Industry ۴.۰ stakeholders and industrialists to think more clearly about the opportunities that the digital revolution can offer for sustainability. To achieve this goal, we reviewed the research literature and found that there are ten sustainable structures for the ۴th generation industry. After localization of the indicators with the help of the fuzzy Delphi method, and with the help of the BWM method in Excel, these criteria have been prioritized in a hierarchy. This prioritization has led to a better understanding of the performance of Industry ۴.۰ and its impact on three different dimensions of sustainability, which is the most important innovation of current research. Important operators include innovation in business models, increasing production efficiency and productivity, production agility and flexibility, digitalization of the value chain, and finally risk and safety management. As the main result, it was found that the operator of increasing production efficiency and productivity with the highest weight was ranked first and the operator of risk management and safety related to employees and the working environment was ranked second. Other criteria appear in subsequent rankings. Our study can be a basis for future empirical research to investigate how companies incorporate and implement Industry ۴.۰ technologies in their processes and how this affects the sustainability of supply chains and circular supply chains.
